Having been a die-hard PC gamer all of my adult life, this here is something absolutely magical. They're both having an absolute blast with me while I feed the addiction introduced to me at 7 years old nearly 25 years ago. I'm playing on console with my spouse and young kid (ive played through and we skip most cutscenes). There's a lot of lore and life in sanctuary - you can connect with these NPCsĪs for the gameplay, spot on. However the characters and interactions in the world are amazing. I won't speak much about the story due to spoilers, but damn is it apparent that some true love was put into this aspect (unlike d3 imo but to each their own). The voice actors really gave a wonderful performance as well. The sound design is great (after I turn the effects volume to 5 so I can hear the other goodies in 5.1 surround) - music and ambience set the tone perfectly in every area. The art design is beautiful across the board, from characters to environments and gear. I was genuinely grossed out during some of the more grotesque scenes. The last thing I’ll mention is that my PC’s MSI 165hz monitor has absolute shit brightness and blacks, whereas my projector is HDR and incredibly good, I would guess that it’s more likely that people have a good HDR TV at home than an OLED PC monitor.
